Wednesday, June 17, 2009 July 14th 2009 Monday, June 15, 2009  Post Tree Giveaway Current mood:  bouncy This event was the most amazing/tiring expierence of my non profit career.  Participators were John Pastor Jason Doucet Kent Labrey Philippe Treguier (qwa sont) Maria Tressie Leah Pastor Danika Adams Theta XI Bernard Johnny Miller The Bayou Vermillion District The Childrens Museum Jefferson Street Market Jody Nederveld We fully demonstrated to the public our ability to organize an event and it went off without a hitch. We Gave away 1000+ trees to the acadiana area and felt great doing it!! Trees Given Away From the  beginning of February from Bayou Operations office. Willow Oak Nuttal Oak Shumard Oak Cow Oak Cherry Bark Oak Persimmon Mayhaw Native Pecan Native Plum Cedar Elm River Birch Green Ash Down town alive was a smash hit. We had a great location. everyone pitched in to help and we demonstrated the variety of trees available. We Danced, had fun and represented our group with a style that leaves a memory in the minds of the public. The childrens museum was Amazing! We arrived at 9am and Setup. By 10 oclock we had over 200 people rush our little operation and leave with happy saplings and happier children. They were literally pushing eachother (kinduf funny) for the trees that we were running out of (fruit trees and river birtch). We took the fraternity guys out and made another run to the BVD to reload and ran out again by 12 oclock noon. Artwalk was HUGE!. Thousands of people walking up and down the downtown area and everyone saw our amazing display for free trees. The Schuffelers showed up as well as many of lafayette "whos who" came to ask questions, visit and of coarse plant a tree for a great cause..... Save Louisiana. We fully plan on making this event a yearly on our to do calendar and our only hope is that next year we can make it even bigger that this year!!! posted by John Pastor 337-349-8528               Dont Forget about the Fun project the month...
